Son of Son of Man (2007)

Old Ghosts, those regrets find new homes in ones and zeroes
and they haunt me to this day.
Counteracting any revelation that my travels have revealed
nothing more than a joke.
With nothing more than more cheap jokes.
There was a whole lot of life to live before all those lives became
more than just a string of lies.
To feed our appetite.
Son of Son of Man and the ironic sarcastic refute.
Son of Son of Man and the testament of all thoughts little.
It dulls the spark begging all who dare dream back into denial
where so called “legends” drive mini vans and forgot
they could break and bleed
on the god damned floor and never feel so damn alive.
This, this life, this string of attempts to undermine your love.
To make it no more than a commodity, laughable at best.
Son of Son of Man, do your worst, do worse than me.
We’ll talk down the road.
Life as commerce is an unforgiving master
and lust is a bitch of a mistress.
Drifting in and out back and forth only by the strength of addiction.
And even now sucking the salt out of every word.
damnit, come on.
Prove me a fool, prove to me this is more than milk toast
attempts at easing our minds.
Numbing our drive for something that’s more.
More than ourselves.
More easily digested bites
More than something I could deliver.

Trailer for upcoming Coalesce archive dvd

The Coalesce archival dvd release is upon us. The covers are coming in soon, and the dvd slips have been hand cut and hand embossed by Sean and his Daughters. In short we are pretty excited about this very hand made project. The packaging is a silkscreened digipack that is 1/2″ thick, and all 4 discs, insert, and sticker slide into. Some of the audio on some of the shows is not ideal, but we are talking about footage from 1995. None of the shows are edited, it’s full sets, with chapter marks at each new song. Some of the shows are cut short due to batteries dying or whatever, but we are hard at work at digging up more old footage for future archival. If anyone has anything not on this list, please get in touch with us! The price for this package is going to be $25.00 at our shows, and it may show up at mom and pop stores in October. A little nerding out before the release.

So, most of you know that I’m a big apple fan, and general tech nerd. Well, I sold my beloved Pismo, and iPod to boot to get an iPhone before tour (I can’t imagine not ever getting lost on tour again). I went ahead and put together a Coalesce: Salt and Passage wallpaper for the phone. Just click on it, and download that puppy. Also, if there are any other Mac or computer nerds out there, you might like to check out a line of tshirts I have been working on that finally launched. It’s called Indie tech, and you can check it out right here! Real news coming on August 1st, till then…

Zeplin repress art revealed, and date pushed back a tad.

zeplin repress cover artWe just got word that the Zeplin “there is nothing new under the sun +” repress of the record is going to be pushed back to August 21. Apparently, Aaron Turner and company have given this thing a ridiculous packaging treatment. I’ve seen the pdf’s, but I still don’t understand how the hell this thing is being put together, I can just tell it looks totally rad.  I got confirmation also that vinyl is indeed going to happen for this release, but most likely a few months down the road.  The jpeg up there in the left is indeed the album cover art. Please note that we will have full stock of these things on the road with us, so if you can’t wait till the street date, come to the show! Tracklist follows…
